Will Robert “Bob” Dempsey
On Tuesday February 9 with his family by his bedside Bob passed from complications brought on by the Covid 19 Virus. The real cause of death was a broken heart. Bob had given up Betty 12 days prior to his passing. Bob’s life journey began with Betty at age 16 when they married and as he referenced often “We raised each other “. They remained inseparable for 65 years. Even at the end of their earthly lives they refused to be separated. Bob was a true outdoorsman. He raised his family with the love and respect of nature. He loved his mountain (MoMo) in Jackson County where him and Betty spent a majority of their time. He prided himself in having the most beautiful green fields for his deer and wild turkey. His happiest days was spent with his family gathering for the Holidays at Deer Camp. He loved all his hunting buddies stopping by Camp to have a cup of coffee sharing a story or just check to see how Mr. Bob was doing. Bob was born and raised in the Big Cove community that he loved so much. He was also a successful businessman. In 1978 Bob, along with Betty opened B&B Precision Machine Inc. He devoted countless years to the success of this business. He truly loved his employees and his customers. In his final days he expressed how fortunate he was to have known the dedication that his employees both past & present had given to him. He spoke about his customers as being like family “some of the most wonderful people he could have ever encountered in his lifetime”. Bob & Betty had recently retired in October 2019.
