Some of you may not know, momma had a drug problem. She drug us two boys to church every time the door was open. Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night prayer meeting and every night of the week-long summer revival……and I’m so glad she did. We never had any doubt we were loved unconditionally.

Momma was a child of God and a faithful member of New Hope First Baptist Church for almost 60 years. She was always active in church activities. She was a leader of Acteens and Girls Auxiliary, Sunday School Teacher, and supported mission work and WMU. She loved singing in the choir and playing piano.

She spent most of her life in Madison County, (New Hope), except for a couple of years in Rome, Georgia. She loved looking at old family photos and talking about working in the Mills in Huntsville. She enjoyed riding about in the early evening watching the deer come out. She was a wonderful cook and made a killer Coca Cola cake. She also was a School Bus Driver and retired as a Rural Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

She was a beautiful wife, wonderful mother, and best friend with a heart of gold as big as the world, and we will surely miss her.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to New Hope First Baptist Church, 247 Church Ave. New Hope, AL 35760.
