“TVA has long supported educators and students with STEM awards and this robotics awards program is another step in helping our region’s young people access tools that can help them be successful after graduation,” said Jeff Lyash, TVA president and chief executive officer. “Supporting youth is part of our mission of service in the Tennessee Valley region and this program will support those who are educating students in a field that will continue to grow.”

“At BVI, we are privileged to make life better for the people of the Valley region through initiatives like the robotics programs,” said Kathy Black, president of BVI. “We are investing in the education of our future workforce—helping to build a pipeline of skilled professionals for TVA and other businesses in the region.”

Robotics fosters creativity, problem-solving and teamwork – skills that are essential for success in the workforce of tomorrow. By introducing students to robotics at an early age, educators are helping students develop critical thinking skills vital to future employment opportunities.
