TUSCUMBIA-If you’ve driven past the Alabama Music Hall of Fame lately, you’ve likely noticed the construction underway. We’re thrilled to announce that ground has officially been broken for the new Colbert County Visitor Center.
For more than 30 years, our current building has served us well, but we’ve simply outgrown it. This new facility will offer

Susann Hamlin,
visitors a fresh, welcoming space to stop, take a break, and learn more about the rich history and culture of The Shoals. It
marks an exciting new chapter for tourism in our community. On July 18, 2024, Tuscumbia Mayor William Foster, along with
State Representatives Kerry Underwood and Jamie Kiel, officially announced that the project is moving forward.
During a ceremony at City Hall, Representative Underwood presented Mayor Foster with a check for $669,000, which will
cover the remaining funds needed to bring the vision to life.
While much has changed through the years, our mission remains the same: to promote Colbert County as a premier
travel destination. Through group tours, FAM visits, fishing tournaments, and ongoing marketing efforts, we are proud to
showcase everything that makes this area special. We often hear people say, “You all must have so much fun,” and while
we’re lucky that’s true, this work also takes long hours, weekends, and careful planning to make sure every detail is
covered and every visitor has the best possible experience. It’s not always easy, but there’s nothing else we’d rather be
doing.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the new Colbert County Visitor Center in the near future.
