BIRMINGHAM  — On Saturday, June 13, 2026, Sojourn Counseling will host the fifth annual Run, Ride & Rumble for PTS Awareness, a community event designed to raise awareness about post-traumatic stress (PTS), promote hope and healing, and help fund access to mental health care for individuals and families across Alabama.

Held during National PTSD Awareness Month, the event gives participants several ways to get involved while supporting a meaningful cause. Attendees can choose from:

  • A 5K run along the Rotary Trail
  • A 10-mile, 25-mile, or 40-mile bicycle ride
  • A 60-mile police-escorted motorcycle ride through Alabama backroads from Riders Harley-Davidson in Trussville to Cahaba Brewing Company
  • Or a general admission pass to enjoy the festivities at Cahaba Brewing Company

The event celebration at Cahaba Brewing Company will include lunch catered by Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant and music throughout the day provided by Shur Shot DJs.

Every registration includes:

  • An event T-shirt
  • Lunch from Chuy’s
  • One beverage at Cahaba Brewing Company
  • A commemorative finisher’s coin

More than just a fun community event, Run, Ride & Rumble serves as a major fundraiser for Sojourn Counseling’s mission of providing quality mental health care to anyone, regardless of their financial ability.

In 2025 alone, Sojourn Counseling served more than 800 clients and provided over $400,000 in sliding-scale services. Through grant funding from the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs, Sojourn also provided counseling services to 135 veterans across the state.

Sojourn Counseling is also the organization responsible for bringing the PTSD Awareness specialty license plate to Alabama, helping increase visibility and conversation around trauma and mental health statewide. More information about the license plate initiative can be found at www.AtEase.org.

“Run, Ride & Rumble is about more than exercise or entertainment,” organizers said. “It’s about reminding people that healing is possible, that they are not alone, and that mental health care should be accessible to everyone.”
