Mary Louise Tagart Profile Photo  Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Hagan Tagart was born in Manhattan, New York, on November 27, 1945, to the late Peter James Hagan and Lucy Marie Robinson Hagan.

Mary took great pride in her Irish roots, held her Catholic faith close to her heart, and cherished the people she loved most. Mary lived her life with a strong spirit, a generous heart, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was known for being spicy, quick-witted, and always ready to share a laugh, bringing warmth and personality wherever she went. Her memory will live on through the countless stories, laughter, and moments shared with those who will miss her dearly.

Mary and Bob Tagart were brought together through a war time letter and a little help from Bob’s mother. He went to her job to meet her in person and friendship developed into love and lifelong partnership. Their story was a testament to the kind of love that finds its way home, no matter the distance.

Together, Mary and Bob built a life filled with love and family and welcomed two daughters, Ivy Marie and Cailin Marie. Mary cherished being a wife and mother, and her family was always the center of her world. Mary was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 521 in Montgomery, NY. During her time there she served as Unit President and was active at the County and State levels. She was a member of the invitation-only 8/40.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Bob; her daughter, Cailin Marie; nine nieces and nephews; and loving extended family members who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Ivy Marie; her sister, Antoinette “Toni” Albanesi; her brother, James “Jimmy” Hagan; her parents, Peter James Hagan and Lucy Marie Robinson; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alfreda Griffin and Russell Tagart and sister-in-law Hazel T. Lake.

Mary leaves behind more than memories, she leaves behind stories that will be told, laughter that will be remembered, and a love that will continue through the family she cherished so dearly.

Services will be held at St. Catherine’s Church on Cayce Lane in Columbia, TN at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN. A link to the funeral will be available for friends and family who are out of town.
