Gwendolyn "Gwen" Peppers Chamblee Gwendolyn “Gwen” Peppers Chamblee, 84, of Albertville, Alabama, went to be with the Lord at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice on June 5, 2026.

Gwen was born in Albertville, Alabama, on December 17, 1941. She was married to her very own real-life “Elvis,” Roy Earl Chamblee, for more than 55 years before his passing. She was a hardworking woman both in and outside of the home, raising three daughters while working full-time at Wayne Farms for the majority of her career. Most importantly, she was a faithful servant of the Lord and a dedicated member of Baltimore Avenue Church of God for 58 years.

Every person who had the pleasure of knowing Gwen knew how loved they were—by both Jesus and by her personally. She was kind to every person she met, prayed daily for everyone she knew, and found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Her final words reflected the faith that guided her entire life:

“For anything good anyone ever thought of me—it was all because of the Lord.”

Gwen is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Joey) Kirby and Jerrie (Charles) Nacrelli; her sister, Stella (Gurley) Drain; her grandchildren, Christy (Keith) Colburn, Jeanie Kirby, and Charlsie Nacrelli; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 55 years, Roy Earl Chamblee; her daughter, Judy (Jerry) Buchanan; her sisters, Dean Bagwell, Bertice Lee, Gail Spurlin, and Ruth Silas; and her brothers, Bud and Eddie Peppers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at Baltimore Avenue Church of God with Bro. Morell Upchurch, Bro. Jason Bright, Dr. Wayne Peters, and Bro. Joey Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. High Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Baltimore Avenue Church of God.

Pallbearers will be Keith Colburn, Gage Salter, Jonah Miller, Jerry Buchanan, Greg Peppers, and Raymond Chiz.

Adams Brown Service Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28
