Blake Adamson, aged 83, of Haleyville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 6, 2026 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral
Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Jimmy Dees and Jeremy Glenn officiating. Burial to follow in Bear Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Walker, Derrick Flanagan, Joshua Handley, Kyler Handley, Jimmy Dees and Daryl Benefield.
Born on October 12, 1942, in Haleyville, Alabama. An outstanding football player, he graduated from Phillips High School and went on to work in the mobile home industry. He retired from the Marion County School System.
Blake served as a Deacon at South Haleyville Baptist Church for many years – Most recently a member of Sunny Home Baptist Church.
Blake was a devoted husband to Faye Adamson and a loving father to Connie, Anita, and Leissa. Blake and Faye were married for 62 years. He loved his family but was especially devoted to Leissa, his special needs child. Blake always had energy to get on the floor to play with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Known for his kindness, humor, wisdom, and handyman skills, he touched countless lives with his willingness to help everyone and anyone.
He loved farming, gardening, and riding on his restored Farmall Cub tractor. He was always generous with his crops, sharing with everyone. Saturdays in the fall saw him rooting for his favorite college team, Alabama. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, his legacy will live on through the values he instilled in his family and the memories shared by all who knew him.
Blake is survived by his wife, Faye Adamson; children Anita Jones, Leissa Adamson, and Connie Southern; wonderful son-in laws, Bobby Jones and Terry Southern; siblings, Melissa Diane Benford and Donald Ray Adamson; grandchildren, Kellie (Billy) Walker, Emily (Derrick) Flanagan, Josh (Amy) Handley, Katie (Dekaiden) Clark, and Kyler Handley; great grandchildren, Wyatt Walker, Anna Flanagan, Amelia Flanagan, Lainey Handley, Diana Handley, and Marcus Handley; a host of many loved, nieces, nephews and family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clinton Adamson and Evie Adamson; siblings, Henry Clay Adamson, James Adamson, Barbara Benford, Horace Adamson, Kathryn Smith, Gordan Willis “Wilkie” Adamson, Jenell Albright and a special nephew, Hank Albright.
He will be deeply missed, but his love and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
