Brenda Fults was born on January 19, 1950, in Hoover’s Gap, a small community in Rutherford County. She graduated from Murfreesboro Central High School in 1968, and worked for State Farm in Murfreesboro. She later earned her LPN from Pulaski Vo-Tech. After several years of nursing, she explored other jobs while caring for her aging mother. She pursued a career in bookkeeping and managed offices in several Pulaski businesses including Abernathy Hardware, Bue Brothers Construction, and Pulaski Lumber Company. She retired in 2023. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, family and friends, and taking care of pets and her various “fur-grandchildren.” She was a big fan of reading books, magazines, and the newspaper, loved Loretta Lynn, and enjoyed watching “The Waltons,” “Little House on the Prairie,” and various crime shows on TV. A strong, independent woman, she believed in loving with all her heart and standing up for the underdog. She also had a spirited side earning her the nickname “Feisty” from her daughter.

She is survived by her daughter and grandchildren of Pulaski; sisters, Betty McHaffey of Hawaii; Jane Turner (Randall) of Murfreesboro; and Bonnie Taylor (Rickey) of Florence, AL; brothers, Jim Fults (Cathey) of Pulaski, and Joe Fults (Shirley) of Etowah. Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends also survive.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Giles County Humane Association or “Cheers for the Girls” (at Lew-Lew’s) in her memory. Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Brenda Fults Hall.
