Dorothy "Dot" Boatwright Dorothy (Dot) Boatwright age 92 passed away on April 15, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born May 12, 1933, to the Reverend George Mitchell and Thelma Barton McCord. Being the daughter of a Methodist Minister, they served various churches where she was educated in the public schools of Pontotoc, Marshall and Lafayette counties. She married Bobby Gene Boatwright who passed away July 22, 2007. She assisted her late husband with the clerical work for Pontotoc County Justice Court of the west side until clerks were hired to fill that position. They also were the original owners of Ecru Fish & Steak where she was hostess and cashier.

A true woman of Godly grace, she was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She is remembered for her kind, loving spirit and Christian legacy she leaves behind for her children and all who knew her. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as Dot Dot. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Pontotoc and loved her 12+ Sunday school class and Methodist Women.

She loved gospel music and playing the piano. She also loved working crossword puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Survivors include her son, Rickey Boatwright, two daughters, Rhonda Bryant (Joe), and Renee Stubbs (Steven), six grandchildren, Brittani Hubbard (Brien), Warren Mitchell Boatwright, Rayanne Smith (Scott), Remington Stubbs (Kayta), Browning and Weatherby Stubbs, one great grandchild, Preslee Boatwright, two nephews, Neal McCord (Mirtha) and Delane McCord, two nieces Marsha Dickey (Jessie) and Jean Cody.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers Travis McCord (Ruby), Barton McCord (Ermagene), two nephews Danny, Max McCord and Dennis Ray McCord.

Visitation will begin Friday, April 17 at 12:00 pm, with the service beginning at 2 pm at Pontotoc First Methodist Church. Interment will be in Pontotoc City Cemetery. Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Pete Fava, Phil Robbins, Jimmy Dale Harrison, Bruce McCoy, Joe Johnson, and Scott Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Campbell and Claude Jones.
