Carolyn Lorraine Hammons, 72 of Jasper, passed away Monday Aug. 3, 36 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father Herbert Roland and Christian, Mother Sybil Doris Payne, daughter Dana Hammons LeVan, and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by two daughters Christy (Derrick) Jett and Angelia Hammons, two brothers Grady (Dianne) Christian and Randy (Kathy) Payne, sister Teri (Michael) Pendley, granddaughters Jordan (Daniel) Shivers, Hannah (Marcus) Kingore, and Madison Jett, grandsons Seth (Lacey) Price and Aaron Young, along with five great grandchildren Scottland, Zelie, Michah, Julian and Eliot.
Carolyn was a nurse for over 30 years, working with Baptist Health Systems. Later in life she pursued a different career path in IT, still with the Baptist Health Systems. She retired from Princeton Hospital in 2021.
She had a love of gardening, cooking and always had a project in the works. Carolyn admired each of her grand and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with each of them. Having lived at Smith Lake, she had a love for the lake and enjoyed having large family gatherings at her home. The family is honoring Carolyns wishes by having a private service and burial.
