Gerald Andrew McGee, 77, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, from noon to 2 p.m. at Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Terry Herston officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery.
Mr. McGee retired from Reynold’s Alloys after 32 years of faithful service. He later worked as the manager of Lexington Water Department and served as mayor of the town of Lexington for eight years. He was a member of Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served as elder.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann McGee; two children, Celista (Anthony) Davis, of Lexington, and Felecia (Wyatt) Lowery, of Killen; six grandchildren, Cecilia (Eric) Brumley, of Rogersville, Crista (Doug) Corley, of Lexington, Cameron Davis, of Lexington, Cale (Ashley) Morrow, of Lexington, Channing Morrow, of Killen, and Carley Morrow, of Lexington; and four great-grandchildren, Case Morrow, Soren Morrow, Tripp Corley, and Piper Corley; two brothers, Royce (Wanda) McGee, of Lexington, and Neal (Sherry) McGee, of Lexington; one sister, Carnell Thigpen, of Lexington; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Richardson, of Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew McGee; his mother, Mable White McGee; sister, Betty Sue McGee Wilson; father-in-law, Arthur Richardson; mother-in-law, Gaynell Howard Richardson; and brothers-in-law, Jim Wilson, Roy Thigpen, and Howard Richardson.
Pallbearers will be Cale Morrow, Channing Morrow, Cameron Davis, Doug Corley, Eric Brumley, Noah Richardson, and Darren Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers will be C.L. Hubbard, Grant Roberson, Ronnie Sharp, Bill Vandiver, Sam Newton, and Steve Littrell.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. McFall, Dr. Lango, Dr. Tinsley, and the staff of Gentiva Home Health.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ministry of Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
