FLORENCE – The Movie in the Park Committee, which is a subcommittee of Downtown Florence Unlimited, will feature “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at Wilson Park in downtown Florence on Saturday, June 18.
The film will start at dusk, and a selection of cartoons will play in advance of the show.
Committee Chairman Wayne Hicks said the “Star Wars” franchise has been popular for generations of movie-goers, and presenting the latest installment of the series, “The Force Awakens” was a natural fit.
“Movie in the Park is a fun activity for families already, and this film has a broad appeal,” he said. “It’s an experience for fathers and sons and daughters. The outdoor venue – seeing the film under the stars – makes it that much more appealing for audiences.”
Other films are planned later this year as part of the ongoing Movie in the Park series.
