MORGAN COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Somerville in Mrgan County has taken the life of a Haleyville man:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. Thursday, October 22, has claimed the life of a Haleyville man.
Gerald L. Benstine, 52, was fatally injured when the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Benstine was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama 36 near the 36 mile marker, approximately four miles east of Somerville, in Morgan County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
