MORGAN COUNTY-On Wednesday February 4th the Morgan County Sheriff Deputies along with the Morgan County Drug Task Force made several drug related arrests throughout the day. Here is how Sheriff Ana Franklin drug arrests:
“On Wednesday, February 4, 2015, the Morgan County Sheriff Deputies, as well as Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents, arrested 5 subjects all on various drug charges throughout the day.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents were called to a residence located at 2976 Apple Grove Rd., in reference to a Domestic Disturbance. Deputies, upon making entry into residence, made contact with (W/M 24) Jeremiah Jett. During their investigation it was learned that there was marijuana in the residence. Agents with the Drug Task Force obtained a Search Warrant for the residence. Agents arrived and located a locked large fire safe, with approximately ¼ ounces of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia items. Jeremiah Jett was arrested for the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and for the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and transported to the Morgan County Jail. Bond Set at $5,300.00.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. Agents with the Drug Task Force were advised that Deputies had attempted to execute an arrest warrant at address 937 Barnett’s Chapel Road on Tyler Bailey (w/m 24). Deputies advised Agents that they had located a large sum of money, Guns and Marijuana. Agents arrived on scene and located approximately 2 ounces of Hydroponic Marijuana in the toilet, that suspect attempted to flush. Agents spoke with Jonathan Bailey (w/m 21) who claimed ownership of the Marijuana, Guns and Cash (totaling several Thousand of Dollars) found. Jonathan Bailey was arrested and charged with the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and transported to the Morgan County Jail. Bond set at $2,500.00.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., agents executed a narcotics search warrant at 2232 Indian Hills Rd. Lot C. in Hartselle. Agents had received a complaint earlier in the day about a possible meth lab being thrown from a vehicle on Burleson Mtn. Rd. Deputies arrived on the scene confirming contents of bag to be a One Pot Meth Lab and other equipment and chemical components. Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents began an immediate investigation and developed suspects as being Nathan Hayes and Jody Allen Hayes, whose residence is located at 2232 Indian Hills Rd. Lot C, Hartselle, Al. Agents obtained a Search Warrant for the residence and made contact with subjects, Nathan Hayes (w/m 38), Jody Allen Hayes (w/f 30) and Carmella Booth (w/f 28). Agents located on
Nathan Hayes approximately 1 gram of Methamphetamine. Nathan Hayes was also found to have outstanding warrants for his arrest with Lawrence County. Jody Allen Hayes was found to be in possession of Synthetic Canabanoids, “Spice”. Carmella Booth was found to be in possession of approximately ½ gram of Methamphetamine. During investigation it was learned that Nathan Hayes had purchased cold pills containing Pseudoephedrine on February 4, 2015, just after 8 a.m. Carmella Booth and Jody Allen Hayes both stated that in the past they had purchased cold pills containing Pseudoephedrine and had given them to Mr. Hayes.
Agents located within residence Drug Paraphernalia containing Methamphetamine.
Nathan Hayes was arrested and charged with the Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine. Bond set at $352,500.00.
Carmella Booth was arrested and charged with the Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine. Bond set at $352,500.00.
Jody Allen Hayes was arrested and charged with Unlawful Manufacturing 2nd Degree- Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Synthetic Controlled Substance or Analog – Synthetic Canabanoids – “Spice”. Bond set at $102,500.00.
Further Investigation is ongoing.”
