Ella Fay Ferguson – Obituary

Ella Fay Ferguson age 77 of Athens, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Ms. Ferguson was born June 2, 1937 in Limestone County, AL to Garland H. Ferguson and Sarah Ola West Ferguson.

Services will be Saturday, February 7, 2015 3:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with David Cox and Bud White officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.

Ms. Ferguson was in the Women’s Army Corp, and a faithful member of Market Street Church of Christ. She was a loving 2nd mother to her nephew, Trey.

Preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Sarah Ferguson; one sister, Carolyn Clevenger; one brother, John Word.

Survived by two sisters, Nancy Bailey and husband, Ray of Athens and Peggy Wolf and husband, Bob of Oklahoma City, OK; special nephew, Trey Bailey of Athens; four nephews, Wesley Staggs of Huntsville, Dickie Thomas of Athens, Shane Weldon of Athens and Stan Stanford, Jr. of NC; three nieces, Kathy Jo Boyd of Athens, Shelia Stanford and husband, Stan of Athens and Jill Burham of Huntsville, AL; special friend, Shelia Lauderdale of Athens.

Pallbearers will be Trey Bailey, Stan Stanford, Sr., Marvin Putman, Derrick Blackwell, Charles Turner and Denny Thornton. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Lauderdale, Gene Ferrell and Ray Bailey.
