Robert “Bob” Kincaid Merritt, age 91, of Winchester, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at Highpoint Health Winchester, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on March 24, 1935, in the Ten Mile community of Meigs County, Tennessee to the late Joseph Harold “Red” and Queen (Kincaid) Merritt. As a young boy, he moved with his parents to Franklin County, where he enjoyed coon hunting with family and friends. Bob began his career as a truck driver for the milk plant, hauling milk from local farms to the plant. He later founded Bob Merritt Livestock, where he worked as a livestock dealer and broker for more than twenty-five years. Retirement was never a word Bob considered. He trained mules to pull wagons and was the founder and owner of Merritt’s Mobile Village for the last thirty years. On weekends, he could often be found at mule and wagon events, attending Walking Horse shows, or entertaining family and friends at local restaurants, cookouts, and fish fries. Bob was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church, now known as Bethel Fellowship Church. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a wonderful man with a strong work ethic—tough as nails, yet soft-spoken and kind, but stern when he needed to be. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Sanders Merritt; and infant brother. Bob is survived by his wife, Martha Neal Merritt; daughter, Donna (David W. ) Pickett; bonus children, Ronnie (Jean) Neal, Peggy Neal (Jim) Bapp, and Kevin (Michelle) Neal; grandchildren, John (Abby) Pickett, Joey (Katie) Pickett, and Clair Pickett; bonus grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Benge, Brent Neal, Cheryl Pegg, Matthew Neal, and Tyler Neal; thirteen great-grandchildren and bonus great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Merritt (Wayne) Tucker; nieces, Linda (Jeff) Bryner and Darla Tucker (Mike) Bishop; nephew, Jason Tucker; and fur baby, Roscoe.
