Peggy Pressnell, age 71, of Athens, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026. She was born on November 29, 1954, in Athens, Alabama, to Edward McBay and Helen Goode McBay.
Peggy was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and faithful friend. She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ, where her faith and love for others were evident throughout her life. Peggy cherished her family above all else and found great joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Chadwick Pressnell (April) and Brent Pressnell (Betsy); her beloved grandchildren, Ann Tyler Pressnell, Titus Pressnell, Chloey Pressnell, and Caleb Pressnell; her sister, Patsy Shields; her brother, Rickie McBay; and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles Stephen Pressnell; her brother, Wayne McBay; and her parents, Edward McBay and Helen Goode McBay.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Peggy Chittam, Haley Turner, and Holly Doran, and numerous others for the compassionate care and kindness they provided.
Visitation will be held on Saturday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Matt Taylor officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Titus Pressnell, Eric Eaton, Caleb Pressnell, Brandon McBay, Rusty Shields, and Mark Pressnell.
Peggy’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
