Elizabeth Irene Wright (best known as Rene), age 90 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1935. Rene was a stay-at-home mom who loved to cook, work in her flower garden, and help others.
Rene is survived by her daughter, Judy (Wesley) Allen; grandchildren, Abby Allen and Matthew (Anna) Allen; siblings, Dorothy Moore, W.H. (Elizabeth) Precise, John Precise, and Charlie (JoAnn) Precise; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Henninger and Juanita Powell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Wright; parents, Thomas & Ina Precise; in-laws, Arthur & Donna Wright, Rayford Moore, Kathy Precise, Ola Wright, Howard and Nina Wright, Perry and Thelma Wright, Bobby Powell, Bobby Allison, and Arthur Henninger.
The family would like to express a very special thanks to Enhabit Home Health & Hospice and her nurse, Cindy Lowe, for her care and dedication. Also, a special thanks to her niece, Sandra Elmore for being there for them and the willingness to give of her time.
The family will receive friends at Scottsboro Funeral Home on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 12-3 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. with Bro. Chris Bell and Dr. Hardin Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Fairfield Baptist Church.
