Truman Lee McBrayer, age 86, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, with his family by his side.
Born on April 4, 1940, Truman was the son of the late Bethel Lee McBrayer and Era White McBrayer. He lived a life marked by dedication to his family, quiet strength, and a love for those closest to him. The memories he created and the values he instilled will continue to be cherished by all who knew him.
Truman is survived by his loving daughters, Jill McBrayer Oakley and her husband, Rodger Gregory Oakley, and June McBrayer Hilley and her husband, LaDon Hilley. He was a proud grandfather to Lauren Annette Oakley (Andrew Canada); Ryan Gregory Oakley (Raegan Whitehead); and Amberly Kirsten Baugh (Josh Baugh). He was also blessed with two beloved great-grandchildren, Joliegh Baugh and Kallum Baugh, who brought him immense joy.
In addition to his parents, Truman was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Frances Virginia Dobbins McBrayer, whose memory he treasured throughout his life.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Oakley, Rodger Oakley, Tom Dobbins, Josh Baugh and LaDon Hilley.
Although flowers are being accepted, those who wish to can make memorial donations to Marshall County Christian Services in Truman’s honor.
Truman’s family finds comfort in the many memories they shared with him and in the lasting legacy of love, faith, and family he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
