After staying later downtown, wake up your appetite on Saturday and head out to the state-certified Athens Saturday Market. Celebrate the end of National Farmers Market Week by coming out for Tomato Sandwich Day at the Green Street pavilion. Free sandwiches with freshly sliced tomatoes, mayo, and salt and pepper will be given away as long as supplies last.

“This event introduces visitors to local growers and the flavors they can enjoy from local, fresh produce,” said Athens Saturday Market Committee Chairwoman Laurie Glenn.
