Obituary of Michele Marie BoggsMichele Marie (Migliara) Boggs, 58, of Decatur, Alabama—formerly of Dover, Delaware—passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. A daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, and a devoted community servant, Michele lived her life guided by one principle: people helping people.

Born at Bunker Hill Air Force Base in Indiana, Michele grew up as a proud military brat. Her childhood was filled with moves across the country and the world—from Indiana to New Jersey, South Dakota, Guam, and ultimately Delaware. Each place added to her resilience, adaptability, and deep appreciation for service.

Michele was a 1984 graduate of Holy Cross High School in Dover, Delaware, where she was known for her kindness, humor, and contagious laughter. While in high school, she also attended Kent County Vocational Technical School, where she studied cosmetology. Her early days were filled with friendships at the Dover Skating Center and ice cream runs to Friendly’s. She worked at K-Mart in the layaway department and was a trusted babysitter for many military families stationed at Dover Air Force Base.

Michele spent her career as the Office Manager at Shelton Railroad Construction in Athens, where her colleagues knew her as a diligent, compassionate professional who always went the extra mile. But her truest calling was in service to others. Michele was a tireless volunteer at the VFW Post 4190 and the Eagles, and she was once in the position of Junior & Senior Vice of the VFW Auxiliary. She also served as Eagles Auxiliary President 2016-17 and, in 2015-16, was named their Mother of the Year, a title she wore with pride.

She devoted countless hours to causes close to her heart, including Meals on Wheels, diabetes research, and events supporting abused children. She didn’t just participate—she chaired the drives, led the teams, and brought others along through her joy and compassion. For many years, she held the position of the scholarship chairman at the V.F.W. She was a passionate advocate for the veterans.

Her family was her world. Michele is survived by her three beloved daughters: Jamie, Leigh Anna, and Jacquie; four of her eight adored grandchildren: Khy, Raelin, Aubreigh, and Brinlee who brought her immeasurable joy; her sisters Donna, Susie, and Dannielle; and her brother Micheal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jacquie Migliara, her brothers Bobby and Phillip, all her grandparents and four of her eight adored grandchildren: Jade, Addie, Bella, and Jordan.

Her girls were her pride and joy. One of her favorite things to say was how lucky she felt that her daughters were grown—and still wanted to hang out with her. She loved nothing more than spoiling her grandbabies, trying out new recipes, playing Candy Crush, catching up on her shows, and, of course, calling out “I made a funny” after a good joke.

To know Michele was to be welcomed, laughed with, and loved unconditionally. She had a heart as big as her humor, and a spirit that lifted every room she entered. She wasn’t just a mom to her daughters—she was a sister, friend, and second mother to many.
