Glenn Douglas Henry of Killen Alabama went home to be with the Lord June 20, 2013 at the age of 57.
Services will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 2 PM at First Baptist Church in Killen Alabama 530 J.C. Mauldin Highway, (256-757-5334), with Brother David McKelvey and Brother Tommy James officiating. Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church from 12 to 2 PM. Burial will follow at Barkley Cemetery, Highway 72, Killen, Alabama.
Glenn was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 28, 1955. He graduated from the University of Delaware in Electrical Engineering in 1978. Glenn worked as an electrical and nuclear engineer at TVA’s Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant from 1979 through 2008. He married Dena Holden on December 24, 1983. He loved the Lord and his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Killen. He was an Eagle Scout, volunteer fireman at Center Star Fire Department, and ran for Lauderdale County Commissioner. He was an usher at church, and helped with AWANA and the nursery. He enjoyed boating, four-wheeling, riding his tractor, and driving buses.
Glenn’s father and mother, William and Maxine Henry, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Dena, daughter, Rachel, and son, Daniel Henry, brothers Alan (Becky) of Peachtree City, Georgia; Keith (Kimberly) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Clifford (Cathy) Henry of Media, Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel, Andrew, Patrick, Chad, Roland, Landon, and Logan Henry.
Glenn was an avid supporter of Answers in Genesis and in lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage donations to facilitate the building of their life sized Noah’s Ark Exhibit in his memory. Donations will be collected at (http://tiny.cc/GlennHenryFund)
The family would like to thank Dr. Morris, Dr. Irons and all of the CCU staff that cared for Glenn at ECM Hospital.
