exieExie Avanelle “Jackie” Logan, 80, of Spring Valley was gathered to her people on June 30, 2016. Visitation will be Sunday, July 3, 2016 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The service will follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Logan was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Brownlow. She was born in a cabin on the Sipsey River, Winston County, on July 19,1935. She was a direct descendant of the Solomon Curtis family that played a prominent role in Civil War Winston County.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clifford Logan. H. Lamar Brownlow, minister, also went before his sister to heaven.
Survivors are her children, Deborah Logan Ezell (Garner), Athens; Cheryl Logan McGee (Tim), Spring Valley and Douglas Logan (Janet) Memphis, Tennessee.
Jackie cherished her grandchildren, Attorney Andrew McGee (Kelly), Muscle Shoals; Dr. Rebecca McGee Holland, Muscle Shoals; Tyler Logan (Lesha), music minister, Austin, Texas; Zachary Logan, worship leader, Memphis, Tennessee; Coach Rob Ezell, University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa; and brother, David Ezell, minister, Scandicci, Italy; four great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Judah, Justice, and Connor; brothers, Jim Brownlow, Carbon Hill and Harold Brownlow of Indonesia; and sisters-by-love, Linda Logan Shelton and Kaye Hale.
Jackie loved to hear the teaching of the Word, and she was a Proverbs 31 woman. She followed the teachings of Christ, and her home was a place of true Christian hospitality. Jackie was an active member of Spring Valley Church of God.
Pallbearers are Andrew McGee, Zach Logan, Rob Ezell, Harold Brownlow, Jr., Tyler Logan, Eliseo Colon, Travis Brownlow, Philip Brownlow and David Ezell.
