It’s hard to know where to begin when talking about a man like Charles Coln, a person that has given so much to others. He was an amazing, brave, and strong man, who was stubborn as a mule. Charles was a wonderful friend, sibling, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Charles was a Stockman at Chrysler Corporation for 35 years and a proud UAW member of Local 1086. He worked hard to give his family a great life filled with fun, laughs and lots of love. He was married to his wife Gracie for 52 years and in that time they made many wonderful memories and built their own little paradise on Pickwick Lake. He leaves behind his three loving daughters; Donna Macedo, Rhonda Harbin and Tammy Lovell. As well as his grand children Brooke Wyatt, Cody Harbin, Dustin Wyatt, Kristen Ospina (Alex), Alana Macedo, Cole Lovell and his great grand children, Roman Ospina, Adriana Ospina, Eleanor Naron and Cruz Ospina. He also leaves behind his sisters, Barbara Staggs (Earl), Sue Burcham (James), and Ruth Long. His brothers, Jerry Coln (Bridgette), and Roy Coln (Jane). Charles was an avid photographer, he captured every moment in time with his family when taking thousands of photographs and countless hours of video. He was always trying to get a laugh, whether you wanted to hear the punch line or not and he loved getting mistaken for Kenny Rogers. Charlie was a pillar of his community, he took care of everyone and was always lending a helping hand. He paid it forward more than anyone. Later in his life, after his retirement, he took up the mantle of animal rescuer. He saved and cared for cats and dogs, even a horse and a hog when no one else would, giving them love, care and a home. They broke the mold when they made Charles Coln and unfortunately, there will never be another as special as him. This wonderful man will be greatly miss by all that knew him.
Pallbearers will be Cody Harbin, Dustin Wyatt, Cole Lovell, Roy Coln, Donnie Coln, and Ricky Powers. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gracie Allen Shults Coln, his Father, John Thomas Coln and his Mother, Edna Grace Mullins Coln.
