Funeral Services for Mrs. Patty Evaughn Munroe, age 74 of Ashland, will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Greg Harrison officiating. Her visitation will take place from 5:00 P.M. until service time at 6:00 P.M. Mrs. Munroe passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her daughter’s home. She was born and raised in Clay County, a graduate of Clay County High School and attended Gadsden State College. She worked as a beautician for several years for multiple Salons in Clay County. She also was the owner of her own Flower shop, Patty’s Petals, and was owner of the Clay County Golf Course for several years. She primarily worked as a bookkeeper for the Clay County Golf Course and Royster Enterprise’s. Mrs. Munroe enjoyed golfing in spare time, as well as reading history and murder mystery novels. Mrs. Munroe was as extroverted as they come. She was a friend to everyone and made sure to speak to everyone she met. She had an eccentric and outgoing personality, and was very personable. Mrs. Munroe also participated in Plays at the local Ashland Theatre, and enjoyed plants and flowers. Mrs. Munroe is survived by her daughter, Kelly Colburn Franko (Stephen) of Smith Station; three sisters: Carol Monroe Macoy of Ashland, Sharon Goldman Watson (Lew) of Lincoln, and Jackie Monroe Powers (Curt) of Elkmont; several nieces and nephews; her faithful companion, Luna, and several granddogs: Hardy, Tango, and Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents: John Whitten and Amarylis Watts Monroe. Flowers are accepted, but the family would prefer potted plants or fresh flowers.
