LIMESTONE COUNTY-The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following a violent incident that occurred on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in the 16000 block of Lon Road in East Limestone.
Deputies responded to reports of multiple assaults and stolen vehicles. Upon arrival, deputies located four victims, including two elderly individuals. Emergency medical personnel and investigators quickly responded to the scene.
Initial reports indicated that a firearm may have been involved and that at least one victim had been shot; however, investigators later confirmed that none of the victims sustained gunshot wounds.

Based on witness statements and evidence collected, investigators determined that Glenn Howard King, 22, of Ardmore, Alabama, approached a victim outside a residence, where an altercation escalated into a severe beating of an elderly male. King then unlawfully forced entry into the residence, where he assaulted two female victims, one of whom was elderly.
During the incident, King stole a victim’s vehicle, struck a fourth female victim with that vehicle, and subsequently crashed into a tree. He then fled the scene on foot to a nearby church, where he stole a second vehicle and fled east on Nick Davis Road. After traveling a short distance, he crashed that vehicle as well.
A Limestone County dispatcher, while traveling to work, came upon the crash and stopped to render aid, believing someone may have been injured. When King attempted to flee by jumping into the bed of a passing truck, the dispatcher intervened despite the obvious danger. A Limestone Correctional Officer also stopped to assist. Through their quick thinking, courage, and decisive actions, the two were able to detain King until a deputy arrived and took him into custody, bringing a dangerous situation to an end.
Three victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment of serious injuries, with two transported by air and one by ground ambulance.
King was taken into custody and charged with:
Attempted Murder
Robbery First Degree
Burglary First Degree
Theft of Property First Degree
Bond will be set by a judge at a later date. This remains an active investigation, and additional charges are possible.
Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin stated:
“This was an extraordinarily violent incident, and I want to especially recognize the remarkable bravery displayed by our dispatcher and the Limestone Correctional Officer who stopped to help without hesitation. Faced with a dangerous and unpredictable suspect, their courage and decisive actions played a critical role in preventing further harm and bringing this incident to a safe conclusion. I also commend our deputies, investigators, EMTs, and medical professionals whose swift response undoubtedly helped save lives. Their teamwork and selfless commitment reflect the very best of public service. Please join us in keeping the survivors and their families in your prayers as they face a long road to recovery.”
