Cornith Woman Dies After Her Vehicle Strikes Tractor-Trailer Near Cherokee

CHEROKEE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident near Cherokee that has taken the life of a Mississippi woman:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, has claimed the life of a Corinth, Mississippi woman.

Emmalee P. Mizell, 26, was fatally injured when the 2021 Toyota Camry she was driving struck the 2022 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer driven by Mark K. McDuffie, 67, of Dallas, Tx. Mizell was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 72 near the 12 mile marker, approximately five miles east of Cherokee, in Colbert County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
