NOTE:  As of 4:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7 the state of Alabama has 2,152 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with a total of 14,765 tested 59 reported deaths with 39 confirmed deaths and 271 people in hospital.

Colbert County: 7 confirmed cases/154 total tests/1 reported deaths/0 died from illness

Cullman County: 21 confirmed cases/150 total tests/1 reported deaths/0 died from illness

DeKalb County: 14 confirmed cases/159 total tests/0 reported deaths/0 died from illness

Franklin County: 7 confirmed cases/107 total tests/0 reported deaths/0 died from illness

Jackson County: 18 confirmed cases/124 total tests/1 reported deaths/1 died from illness

Lauderdale County: 18 confirmed cases/290 total tests/2 reported deaths/1 died from illness

Lawrence County: 8 confirmed cases/96 total tests/0 reported deaths/0 died from illness

Limestone County: 32 confirmed cases/401 total tests/0 reported deaths/0 died from illness

Madison County: 150 confirmed cases/719 total tests/2 reported deaths/2 died from illness

Marion County: 21 confirmed cases/107 total tests/3 reported deaths/1 died from illness

Marshall County: 37 confirmed cases/222 total tests/1 reported deaths/1 died from illness

Morgan County: 30 confirmed cases/254 total tests/0 reported deaths/0 died from illness

Walker County: 62 confirmed cases/202 total tests/0 reported deaths/0 died from illness

Winston County: /3 confirmed cases/61 total tests/0 reported deaths/0 died from illness

MONTGOMERY-The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) website now provides additional data elements to describe the state residents who are affected by COVID-19. This can be viewed under the “Current Situation in Alabama” header at alabamapublichealth.gov/infectiousdiseases/2019-coronavirus.html.

Demographic characteristics include the following:
·        Number of laboratory-confirmed cases
·        Total number hospitalized
·        Reported deaths
·        Verified deaths
·        Age
·        Sex
·        Race
·        Ethnicity

Clinical and epidemiologic characteristics of patients include:
·        Intensive care unit
·        Mechanical ventilation
·        Healthcare worker (Hospitals and doctors’ offices)
·        Long-term care
o        Employee
o        Resident

State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris said, “We have received several requests for information about the many Alabamians affected by this highly infectious and deadly virus. Everyone plays a critical role in protecting others.”
During this critical time, the public is reminded to stay home if sick except to seek medical care, cover coughs and sneezes, wash hands often, avoid touching  eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands, and keep a six-foot distance between themselves and others. Fines for each violation of the health order are up to $500.
