Ronan Flannery.jpg Ronan Alan Flannery of Montgomery, Alabama passed away suddenly on April 12, 2026 at UAB Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 44 years old.

Ronan was born on January 4, 1982 in Florence, Alabama to Al and Patricia Flannery. He attended Saint Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Bradshaw High School where he distinguished himself as an exceptional golfer. During his high school career, Bradshaw won two state championships and was runner-up in another, leaving a lasting legacy of athletic excellence.

He continued his education at the University of North Alabama, where he remained dedicated to the sport he loved. Ronan was a member of the UNA golf team that made the NCAA finals, an achievement he carried with pride.

After graduation from UNA, Ronan worked at the Department of Transportation in Montgomery, where he served as a Senior GIS Specialist. He was respected by colleagues for his professionalism, knowledge, and steady commitment to his work.

Ronan is survived by his loving parents, Al and Patricia Flannery; his siblings, Darragh (Magdalen), Fionnuala (Paul), Adrian (Julie), and Barry; and his cherished nephews Andrew Michael, John Darragh, Declan, and Liam; and niece Isla. He was a devoted and caring uncle who brought joy and support to his family.

Ronan will be remembered not only for his accomplishments on the golf course but for his unwavering loyalty, kindness, and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him. He had a selfless spirit and consistently put the needs of others before his own.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ronan’s wish was that he be cremated. A funeral Mass will take place Friday April 17 at Prince of Peace Chapel Hoover, AL at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m.
