Ms. Brenda Mae Davis Cook, age 73, of the Mobbs School community in Arab, Alabama,
passed away peacefully at Marshall Medical Center North on Monday, March 2, 2026. Born on
June 23, 1952, in Marshall County, Alabama, Brenda was the daughter of James Hollman Davis
and Laura Mae Hardin Davis. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas
Randy Cook, in 2005. Brenda was a proud high school graduate and built a rewarding career
with Chrysler Corporation, where she worked until her retirement.
Brenda enjoyed reading and could spend hours with a good book or playing games on her tablet.
She enjoyed her trips to the casino and purchasing lottery tickets, where she anticipated and
embraced both the thrill of winning and the lessons of loss. More than anything, Brenda
treasured time spent with her family, especially her cherished daughters and grandson. She will
be missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.
Brenda is survived by her loving family: daughters Brandy Cook and Christina Phelps (Brian);
her mother, Laura Mae Davis; grandson, Jacob Riley Thompson; and brother, Lynn Davis
(Linda).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Cook; her father, James H. ‘Hollman’ Davis;
brother, Sammy Davis; sister, Denise Davis Deck, and nephew, Cory Davis.
The family has chosen to honor Brenda’s requests for cremation with a memorial service. A time
of visitation will be at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 5, 2026 between the
hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm. Brenda’s cremated remains will be entombed at Brookwood
Cemetery Mausoleum on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 2:00pm. Arab Heritage Memorial
Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements.
