TUPELO, MS-Progress continues on the $60 million Chickasaw Heritage Center (CHC) near the Tupelo Regional Airport, encompassing 162 acres . Today, members of the Chickasaw Archaeological Survey Program (CASPR) were provided with a tour by Brad Deramus, the director of the CHC.
CASPR is one of several Chickasaw Nation programs that provides opportunities for Chickasaw citizens to visit the historic Homeland. While visiting, participants are immersed in Chickasaw history and culture through archaeological work and visiting important heritage sites.

The Chickasaw Heritage Center will interpret the rich history of the Chickasaw people by providing visitors a comprehensive, state-of-the-art educational experience from a uniquely Chickasaw perspective.
The goals of the Chickasaw Heritage Center are to provide information on Chickasaw history and culture to visitors and to provide a place for Chickasaw citizens to connect with their historic Homeland. The primary targeted audiences are the Chickasaw people, First Americans and Mississippians.
