Joyce Parrish, 85, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at her daughter’s residence in Stevenson, AL. She was born in Camden, TN and was a histotechnologist for more than thirty years with Abbott Laboratories. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and above all, a faithful servant of Jesus. Her life was defined by love. She especially had a heart for children, always the first to offer help and the first to show kindness. Through her gentle spirit and giving nature, she reflected the love of Christ to everyone around her. Joyce was a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

Services will be Thursday, September 11, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bishop Bobby Peoples and Ruth Peoples officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 11-1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her two daughters, Tami L’aDnier and Kathy Mize; her grandchildren, Joshua Price, Sonya Zaleski, Kaci L’aDnier, and Christian L’aDnier; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Nelva Frazee; and her brother, Wendell Stone.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pressley Parrish; her granddaughter, Jessica; her great-granddaughter, Autumn; and eleven siblings.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Price, Bruce Mize, Michael Mize, Kyle Knight, Kyle Zaleski and Christian L’aDnier.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith and love lives on in her family and in the countless lives she touched. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:35.
