Carlton Edward Lofton, Sr., 76, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born in Franklin County, AL to Nathan Lofton and Ivy Robison Lofton. His passion for life was God, his family and his ministry, “Sharing Jesus’ Love Ministry”, which he shared in the United States and Phillipines. He loved to travel and was always eager to find a fishing spot at every destination.
Services will be Friday, September 12, 11 a.m. at Grace Community Church with Bro. Curtis Reese, Bro. Larry Wilson, Anthony Patterson and Chuck Lofton officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 5-8 p.m. at Grace Community Church. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena Lofton; children, Carlton Lofton, Jr. (Elizabeth), Rebecca Patterson (Anthony), John Lyold Amad (Jeyne Mae), John Ray Amad (Nica), Kirvin Amad, Christian Amad and Jemica Amad; grandchildren, Meagan Holt (Wesley), Breana Patterson, Ezekiel Lofton (Myranda), Chloe Sneed (Matthew), Benjamin Lofton, Robert Hill (Stacey), Blake Hill (Jordan), Katie Wommack (Kyle) and Allie Wall (Micah); nineteen great-grandchildren; an aunt, Betty Wilemon and a host of sisters and brothers-in-law, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of forty-six years, Betty Carol Sparks Lofton, a brother, Billy Lofton and a sister, Brenda Six.
Pallbearers will be Billy Boyd, Michael Wilemon, Bryant Helm and Matthew Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Wooten and Jerrel Gillentine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed to “Sharing Jesus’ Love Ministry”, 404 11th Ave. NE, Red Bay, AL 35582, may be made at Community Spirit Bank, c/o “Sharing Jesus’ Love Ministry” or to a charity of your choice.
