Gene Autry Howard of Pulaski, TN, passed away on August 7, 2025 at St Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born on July 29, 1953 and was 72 years old.
Gene retired from The Timken Company (Torrington Fafnir) after 31 years of service. He was also a long-time employee of Sundrop Bottling. Gene was very passionate about the game of golf. When he was not on the golf course, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, and cleaning and customizing his vehicles.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Howard and his brother, Clarence Howard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Doris Harney Howard. Children, Terrence Howard and Chandra (Anthony) Nelson. Granddaughter, Kaleria Howard, step-granddaughters, Amber and Ebony Nelson. Great-grandson, JJ White and step great- granddaughter, Iviarlee Manning. Brothers, James (Chunky) Howard, David (Deborah) Howard, and Stanley Howard. Sisters, Linda (Robert) Harris, Dorothie (John) Moore. Aunt, Clara Powell. Mother-in-law, Ida Harney. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 4:00-7:00pm at Bennett- May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Maplewood Cemetery.
