Phillip Layne Griggs of Pulaski, Tennessee, passed away Thursday morning, August 7th, 2025, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on February 23rd, 1965 and was 60 years old.
Phillip was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. A dedicated truck driver, Phillip spent countless hours behind the wheel of his big rig. He also had a natural gift for mechanics—never afraid to get his hands dirty. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Phillip was an avid hunter. He treasured time spent with his family.
A visitation will be from 11:00am until 2:00pm Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home with Brother Mike Ferrazas officiating.
The burial will be in Kedron Cemetery in Prospect, TN
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Wanda Butcher Griggs.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Maria Sue of Pulaski, TN
