Funeral service for Gail Turney, 80, will be Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Center Springs Methodist Church with Bro. Stacey Turney officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Center Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Center Springs Methodist Church.
Mrs. Turney died on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at her residence. She was born September 23, 1944, in Morgan County, to John Mason Allen and Janet Johnson Allen.
She retired from the Morgan County Board of Education in the early 2000’s. Her roles included at various times, Secretary of Cotaco School, Child Nutrition Program and Transportation Department. She was a lifetime member of Center Springs Church, serving in roles as Choir director, choir member, part of the women’s group. She was a sponsor with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, being matched with Tina Colwell for 36 years.
She is preceded in the death by her husband, Royce Turney, her parents and a son, Forrest Johnson.

Eleven Grandchildren – Amber Spears (Coty), Patrick Johnson, Olivia Turney, Nate Turney, Lincoln Turney, Ella Turney, Owen Young, Reece Young, Miles Turney, Graham Turney, McKinley Turney Wesley.
Two Great Grandchildren – Cooper Spears and Landon Spears.
Pallbearers will be Coty Spears, Jonathan Fairbanks, David Ellsworth, Danny Young, Michael Travers, and Michael McNutt.
