Calvin Clayton WhitfieldCalvin Clayton Whitfield, age 68 of Tuscumbia, passed away on Friday, June 06, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with various health issues.

Calvin was a man whose life was defined by his work ethic, humility, and unwavering love for his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he dedicated himself to providing for his loved ones and creating a home filled with warmth and care. Whether working tirelessly with his hands or sharing a moment of laughter with those closest to him, Calvin’s presence was one of constant support and kindness.

His passion for farming, fishing, hunting, and the beauty of nature brought him joy. Calvin’s love for animals and his skillful craftsmanship were a testament to his deep connection to the land. He was a true builder at heart, both in his work and in his relationships with those he loved. Calvin’s legacy of love, hard work, and quiet strength will live on through his family and the countless memories he leaves behind. A man who never sought the spotlight, Calvin’s impact was felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Calvin. You were deeply loved, and you will be missed more than words can express

The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. A memorial graveside service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Mars Hill Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis & Virginia (Smith) Whitfield; siblings, Jimmy Whitfield, Randy Whitfield, Veronica Whitfield, Tammy Benstine; and stepchildren, Tony Stone and Jackie Pickens.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 25 years, Penny Whitfield; daughter, Misty & John Sydorick and granddaughter, Faith Sydorick; stepson, Andy & Susan Stone; grandchildren by marriage, Dakota, Breanna, Jada; siblings, Scottie Whitfield, Johnny Whitfield, Pam Moreno (Dan); and several nieces & nephews.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for their medical care of Calvin for the last several years.
