Harold Eugene Skidmore
January 10, 1951 – February 27, 2025
Harold Eugene Skidmore, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away on February 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Franklin, Harold met his high school sweetheart, Nancy Baxter, and they married in 1970, sharing over 50 years of love and devotion until her passing in 2021.
Harold was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in forestry, after playing football at UT Martin. In 1979, he and Nancy made Guntersville their home, where they built a life filled with faith, family, and service. A dedicated member of the Guntersville Church of Christ, Harold served as a deacon for many years, always embodying kindness and generosity. He found joy in fishing, spending time with his sons and grandchildren, and selflessly helping others
He is survived by his sons, Brent (Lori) and Kevin (Jill); his beloved grandchildren, Sarah Nan, Hudson, Turner, Oliver, and Millie Drew; his sister, Gail Crafton; his brother, David Skidmore; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents, Eugene and Mildred Skidmore; and his sister, Martha.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Skidmore, Michael Crafton, Rip Baxter, Trevor Lockhart, Ron Jackson, and Brent Lusk.
Harold’s presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the impact of his life will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heartlite Hospice or the Guntersville Church of Christ Benevolence House in his memory.
