Drug Arrest In Scottsboro; Brothers Charged Drug Trafficking

SCOTTSBORO-The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of two rothers on several drug related charges in Scottsboro:

“On Monday March 21, 2022, members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) executed a search warrant at a residence on Lemon Street in Scottsboro, Alabama.  During this search, a large amount of Controlled Substances were located including: Approximately 142 Grams of Methamphetamine; Approximately 84 Grams of Crack Cocaine; Approximately 20 Grams of Cocaine HCL, thirty-three (33) packages of Marijuana, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Clonazepam, Amphetamine and Psilocybin.   Additionally Drug Paraphernalia and Packaging Material were located, which indicated the resale of these Controlled Substances. 

As a result of this search and subsequent seizure the following brothers were arrested and charged as listed below:

JOHN ALLEN LEIGHTNER age 31 of Scottsboro, AL.

Charges- Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Crack Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances- Oxycodone, Possession of Controlled Substances-Hydrocodone, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances-Amphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances-Clonazepam,  Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances-Psilocybin,  Possession of Marijuana 1st degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Bond was set at $78,800.00 and John LEIGHTNER remains in the Jackson County Jail.

TIMOTHY MARK LEIGHTNER, Jr. age 33 of Albian, MI.

Charges- Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Crack Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances- Oxycodone, Possession of Controlled Substances-Hydrocodone, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances-Amphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances-Clonazepam,  Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances-Psilocybin,  Possession of Marijuana 1st degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Bond was set at $78,800.00 and Timothy LEIGHTNER remains in the Jackson County Jail.
