Funeral for Ena Mae Pickens, 91, of Mount Hope, was Monday, August 6, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Rock Springs Presbyterian Church in Mount Hope with Reverend Larry H. Lee officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Rock Springs Cemetery. Visitation was from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Pickens, who passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018, at her home, was born September 23, 1926, in Russellville to Simon and Mary Pace. She was a member of Rock Springs Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time outside working in her beautiful lily gardens and loved spending time with her brothers and sisters at their “family get-togethers.” She also looked forward to visits from her family … especially her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gene Pickens; one son, Allen Pickens and wife, Karen; one daughter, Deborah Pickens; two granddaughters, Karla Gillespie (Eric) and Keri Murphy (Ben); three great-grandchildren, Mattie Rae Gillespie, Cole Murphy and William Murphy; three brothers, Copeland Pace, Ford Pace (Mary) and Gene Pace; one sister-in-law, Marie Pace; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Eric Gillespie, Ben Murphy, Roland Pace, Randy Pickens, Harold Martin and Odell Gholston. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Pace, Anthony Pace, Richard Pace and Darrell Pace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Rock Springs Presbyterian Church.
The family gives special thanks to the nurses and staff of Alacare Hospice and her special sitters for their love and care.
