On Saturday, October 3, 2026, Faye Walling Vann passed away at the age of 81 years.
Faye was a devoted mother, cherished Nanny, but above all, she lived to feed the people she loved. Faye was born on April 20, 1945 in New Albany, Mississippi and lived in East Saint Louis and Aurora, IL before making her home in New Hope. After a long career at Chrysler, Faye enjoyed going to bingo, her favorite shows, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and beloved extended family. Her weekly visit to Julia’s salon always brought a smile to her face.
Faye will be remembered for her love of family, her appreciation for Pepsi and pastries, and her determination, strength, and warm spirit.
Faye is preceded in death by parents Elmo and Marie Craig; husband Johnnie Walling, husband Johnny Vann; sister Helen Littlejohn; brothers Charles Bailey II, Carl Craig, Ricky Craig, Julius Craig, Danny Craig; grandson Ethan Walling; and son-in-law Mickey Cope.
She leaves to cherish her memory sister Jackie Holland; daughters Alice Cope, Johnnie Patterson, Annett Walling, Ashley Vann; grandchildren Dean, Hallie, Alex, Nathan, Trey, Mason; great-grandson Kai; bonus family Jeff Vann, Nina Vann, Lindsay, Dakota, Myles; son-in-law Gary Patterson; and special friend Melanie Lewis. She also leaves behind many friends, family, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to New Hope Funeral Home or Clearview Cancer Institute in Faye’s name.
