Alfred Jessie Turne – Obituary

Alfred Jessie Turner, born on March 26, 1928 in Florence, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018. Visitation will be Monday, July 2, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Tommy Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Alfred was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church of Florence and was retired with Reynolds Alloys. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during World War II. He was a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living in Florence for the past three years and the family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation for the love and care given Alfred during his residency. Alfred very much loved the staff and considered them as part of his family. We also wish to express our appreciation to Kindred Hospice for the loving care given Alfred during his illness. Alfred was an adamant Alabama football fan and loved talking politics.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Francis Imogene Bevis Turner; son, James Edward Turner (Mavanell); brothers, Hartwell, Brooks, and James Turner; sisters, Edna Turner, Tipper and Pauline Turner McDaniel; and great-grandson, Braden Lane Turner.

Survivors are his son, William Turner (Kathy); daughter, Brenda Turner Howard (Alton); also sons, Michael Turner and Timothy Turner (Christina); grandchildren, Angela Turner Sizemore and Rhonda Howard; 8 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
