Leonard Wright Streit

Leonard Wright Streit, age 94, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, passed away at his residence on October 26, 2026. He was born on December 14, 1931, to George and Myrtle Streit.
Leonard was a proud Korean War veteran and dedicated 30 years of service to the Tennessee Valley Authority at Colbert Steam Plant. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, Cecile, and working in his yard.
He was also an active member of the VFW post 4919, American Legion, and Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Cecile Streit; son, Jackie Streit; grandchildren, Selena Denton (Ben) of Huntsville, Alabama, Brandon Streit (Sandra) of Florence, Alabama; and Jerica Rye (Bryant) of Hamilton, Alabama; and great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Mila, and Tyler Denton; and Blakely Ann Rye.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Myrtle Streit; brothers, O. L., Maurice, Albert Lee, and Carl Dean; sisters, Margaret Jane and Hazel Frew; and son, Tommy Streit.
Visitation will be held on October 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Colbert Memorial Chapel in Tuscumbia, Alabama, with a graveside service beginning at noon in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Leonard will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him. The family would like to give a special thank you to Affinity Hospice for the love, care, and comfort they provided to “papaw” and also, the family.
Pallbearers will be: Bryant Rye, Wayne Evans, Jimmy Evans, Barry Osborn, Gary Ledlow, and Scott Henninger. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mike Peden and Perrie Perkins.
