Herschel Wayne Green, 70, of Florence passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2019. Visitation will be Sunday, July 1 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will be Monday, June 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jim Murphy and Reverend Dylan Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Rhodesville Community Cemetery.

Wayne was the pastor of Rhodesville United Methodist Church for the past 12 years and Weeden Heights United Methodist Church for the past 3 years and former pastor of Barton United Methodist Church for 16 years. He was a Godly loving man who loved everyone. Wayne loved his family more than anything in this world. He was the best daddy to his girls and grandfather to his grandchildren, which he adored. He had millions of friends. Wayne left this world praying, as we all know he loved to do, for everyone. He was a person that everyone loved and cherished. He never turned anyone down when it came to helping and praying for someone and helping them bring their problems to the Lord. His church and church members were just like his family. He loved each and everyone the same. He could play music and sing like an angel here on earth. God brought an angel to sing in his heavenly choir.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Herschel and Allie Pauline Green; brother, George Green; and two infant sons.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Green; daughters, Kim (Tony) Brewer, BJ (Wayne) Sims, Regina (Jamie) Howard, and Dakaree Tingle; grandchildren, Kayla and Nick Brewer, Wesley, Terry, and Tristan Tingle, and Tierra and Tanner Green; great-grandchildren, Toni Nicole, Diesel, Brentlyn, Blake, Brooks, Kilee, and Rylan; brother, Gary (Mary), Bobby (Pat), and Tommy Green; sisters, Louise Creasy, Lucy Humphries, and Barbara Stone; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Tanner Green, Nick Brewer, William McCollum, Austin Baskins, Darrell Baskins, and Anthony Logan. Honorary pallbearers include Sonny Wimbs, Wayne Sims, Tony Brewer, Jamie Howard, and Allen Hanvey.
