James Clay Nunley, age 41, of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
Clay was the son of James Nunley and Linda Hobby and a lifelong resident of Marshall County.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Beth Hopkins; paternal grandparents, Herman Leon Nunley and Irene Derryberry; maternal grandparents, J.C. and Marietta Hobby; aunt, Mary Floyd.
He is survived by his daughters, Brookelyn Nunley and Madalyn Nunley; two sons, Blaine Nunley and Bryce Nunley; fiance’ Kourtney Gauthier; father James H. Nunley of Lewisburg; mother Linda Hobby of Mooresville; sister Jamie Nunley Chapman of Cornersville; aunt and uncle, Cynda and Barry Hooten of Lewisburg; several nieces and nephews.
He was employed by General Motors in the Industrial Maintenance/Electrical division where his skill, dedication, and dependable nature were appreciated by those who worked alongside him. Away from work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—hunting deer, fishing, watching his children play sports, farming, and riding his side-by-side across the farm. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and the memories they created together. His warmth, devotion, steady presence, and deep love for those closest to him will be profoundly missed, but the example he set and the love he shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, on Sunday, September 13, 2026, beginning at 3:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm at London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bryant Cemetery.
