Johnny Michael Allen, age 55, of Killen, formerly of Decatur, passed away May 27, 2017. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home with Brother Frank Mills officiating. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Moulton Cemetery.
Johnny was employed as a pressman at the Times Daily. Previously, he was the co-owner of Madison Printing in Madison. He was an avid Alabama fan and loved bowling.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Corrine “Micki” Allen; mother, Yevonne Allen; children, Lisa Allen, Joseph, and Julie Perkins, Telishia and Brad Sroufe, Felishia, Tracey, and Darren Whitehead, Misty McGee, and Barry Tipton Jr.; siblings Christie Allen Nichols, Greg Allen, Cheryl Elkins, Kimberly Johnston, and Michael Johnston; 17 grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Johnny was a kind and caring person, always taking care of others, especially his extended family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Perkins, Glwedinn Greenfield, Brad Sroufe, Michael Kelly, Keith Cox, and Christopher Sexton. Honorary pallbearer will be Cameron Sauerwein.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Taha and the other doctors on his treatment team at the Cancer Centers of America in Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to melanoma research through the Cancer Centers of America.
