Charles Matthew McGee, was born Sept. 26, 1969 in Florence, Alabama, the son of Dewey Ray McGee Sr. and Carolyn Marie Weeks McGee, of Florence, who survive.
Mr. McGee had worked at T J’s Manufacturing and was of the Methodist faith. He departed this life Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, Alabama at the age of 47 years, eight months, two days after a brief illness.
Other than his parents, survivors are brothers, Darrell Lee McGee, Florence, Alabama, Dewey Ray McGee Jr., Cherokee, Alabama; sisters, Rejetta Liles and Beckie Blevins, both of Florence, Alabama, Kristie Faulkner, Red Bay, Alabama; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Cloverdale Methodist Church, Florence, Alabama with Lynn Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery, Florence, with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Brett Blevins, Ronald Liles, T. J. Johns, Luke Patterson, Nathan Faulkner and Gene McGee.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood. His body will be placed in the church two hours before the service on Wednesday.
