“On December 3rd at approximately 3:30am, Madison Police responded to Summerview Dr. off of Shelton Rd. to check on suspicious activity. A resident in the area saw people looking in his car and telephoned Madison Police. Responding officers stopped a black sedan in the area near Oakland Rd. with three people inside. Further investigation revealed they were in possession of stolen property taken from cars in the Summerview Dr. and Oakland Rd. area. The vehicles entered were unlocked and purses and credit cards were taken. The car they were stopped in was later found to be stolen from Huntsville and had not yet been discovered missing by the owner at the time of the stop. The Huntsville Police Department was contacted and is assisting in the investigation. More charges are pending against the offenders.
Madison Police arrested all three individuals for the following:
7 counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle
1 count of Theft of Property 3rd degree
1 count of Theft of Property 4th degree

18 year old Deon Jackson of Huntsville was taken to the Madison County Jail. A 15 year old male from Huntsville and a 15 year old male from Harvest were taken to the Neaves-Davis Center for Children.

The Madison Police Department would like to commend the citizen who saw the suspicious behavior and telephoned police. The ability of the police department to enhance safety in the community is directly tied to prompt and thorough reporting of suspicious activity.
The majority of car burglaries in Madison occur between the hours of midnight and 5am. The police department would like to remind citizens to remove valuables from vehicles parked overnight, and lock their car doors. The items most frequently stolen from vehicles are purses, wallets, portable electronics, and firearms.”
