Cynthia “Cindy” Balentine Smith, 66, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Cindy was born October 19, 1948 in Florence, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Margaret Balentine; son, Donnie O. Smith; brother, Charlie Balentine; in-laws, Jerry Thompson and Carol Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years Alton Smith; sisters, Dorothy Couch (Mark), Glenda Thompson, and Cathy Ridgeway; brothers, Sammie Balentine, Johnnie Balentine, and James Balentine; in-laws, James Smith, Felton (Patty) Smith, Linda (Jerry) Martin, Jennifer (Richard) Pennington, all of Florence.
The funeral will be Friday, September 4th at 2:00p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. John Richards, Wayne Wood, and Larry Burbank will be officiating. Interment will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
Nephews Tony Couch, Tyler Thompson, Dalton Balentine, Steve Smith, Chad Smith, and Brad Martin will serve as pallbearers. Raybern Austin, Anthony Bevis, and Jeremy Rourke are honorary pallbearers.
